I was in Elmira (briefly) today and managed to squeeze in a shot of that hydrant; it is at 142 Drive A, and has obviously been neglected:That is and interesting web site. Does anybody have a picture of the chrome plated hydrant that was/is in Strathmont in front of the Kennedy house?

Coxsackie or Cortland do you think? This is from a different plant - maybe the city our forebearers raided to get Kennedy to move to Elmira...

The picture shows "Chesackie" as the factory location. The reference to "Cortland" is the telephone exchange. For example, Elmira's exchange used to be "Regent". How many remember that?I did a search in Street Atlas for "Chesackie" and came up with nothing. Maybe it's Coxsackie, as you said Bill. This will require more research to find the actual city that originally housed Kennedy Valve.Coxsackie or Cortland do you think? This is from a different plant - maybe the city our forebearers raided to get Kennedy to move to Elmira...
