Just reading his book now, and it is a very good detailed history of the Prison camp.Any chance anyone know Michael well enough to let him know about us here, I would love to have the opportunity to have a back and forth with him, as I am sure most of us would.

Mr. Horigan also has BRILLIANT family in the area. 2 of which are ND educators. I wish I could say I was more closly related, but obviously with my aptitude at spelling, I fell off the tree, hit with a falling stick and over the revine.

Really, maybe my daughter (The ND student) knows who's who and can get a message to him.

I've talked to him about us, Bill. He doesn't like computers and doesn't have one.

Doesn't like computers...lol. Sounds exactly like my Father, he had written three books...long hand, before I could convince him to use a computer. He has since taken up with the evil computer and while still a complete computer illiterate, enjoys the power and flexibility it brings to his profession.Sad that Michael is not on here, he woudl be a great resource.

It is indeed a good book. Stackpole books has published some serious-good Civil war stuff. I learned a LOT from that book. Like the fact that the NYState fairgrounds were turned into a training camp. And the actual location of the prison camp. If you do speak with him, thank him for cornering me into buying the book during my dad's rehab session. :D
But you knew that already, didn't you?
