The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a hit and run motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of County Route 8 and
County Route 2 on 07/10/12, at approximately 5:55 p.m.

At that time, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the aforementioned location for an individual who had been struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, Deputies
learned that Deborah E. Meyer Deborah E. Meyer, age 41, of Sayre, Pa. was a passenger in a vehicle being operated by William A. Ramsey, age 49, also currently residing in the Sayre area. After a verbal altercation that took place in the vehicle, Meyer exited the vehicle in the area of County Routes 8 and 2, at which time Ramsey did multiple donuts in the roadway and then drove at Meyer and struck her with the vehicle.

Meyer suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital for treatment. Ramsey fled the scene in a 2004 Dodge pick-up, color blue, bearing Louisiana plate B483788. Deputies are still searching for Ramsey at this time. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle that exited the vehicle at the same time as Meyer and did not sustain any injuries.

The investigation is continuing at this time.

So why is this model of civilized society free now? Could he really have posted 250K bail from his previous arrest?

I wondered that, too, and then found this article that states his bail was reduced to $25k at the end of May...

I'd put money on the victims from each case being the same. It has domestic violence written all over it.
