I need to purchase a new Web cam but have no clue what to get. I just need something for Skype, not too expensive and with a microphone. Any suggestions?

Aren't they all pretty much the same?

I am sure someone more techy will have real info, but my thought is, one is pretty much the same as any other.

We had a really inexpensive one and the quality was not good at all, and then it died. I know they range from a few bucks to a few hundred...

Yeah, I am with Bill on that. Most work fine, but I have got a crappy one from Big Lots that was junk.

I just went to Newegg.com and did a search for "skype camera microphone" and got these:

I get most of my stuff from Newegg. Good product and fast shipping.

Here is a Microsoft one with good reviews for $14.

That's awesome, thanks Dan. I forgot about Newegg - I ordered luggage through that site & got a great deal.

My web cam is a couple years old now but works very well on Skype. The video feed is not HD quality but quite clear and the audio through the computer speakers is also good quality.
