IE sucks. Sure, it is easy to lock down for administrators, but the internet is not all about making the administrators lives easier. Progress marches on no matter how many chains a sysadmin wants to put on their users.

Down side: When she uses my computer, she has always used IE and I use FF.... I keeps all of our "stuff" separated. Now, I'm going to have to work out another way to keep our "stuff" (favs) separated....

I think there ought to be a "stupid tax" on any IE version as they all require massive amounts of time to code around to get to simply work.

Sometimes sysadmins put chains on users' systems protecting them from self-inflicted software update that may cause serious bad shit to happen when not done by those who know how to do patch apps. Sometimes the browser has to stay untouched because of some obsolete crappy plugin that is still used by the corporation and upgrading the browser will cause the plugin not to work. People at work should not be having fun (shopping etc) anyway.
Yeah, I fix computers.

People at work shouldn't be having fun? Why on earth would they bother showing up then?
Maximum work with maximum supervision, limited bathroom breaks, NO coffee/cigarette breaks, 15 minutes for lunch. Overtime is strongly suggested, at least 2 hours per day, at the same pay rate as a regular time. Not bad, until you factor in the ABSOLUTELY NO FACEBOOK rule.
Yeah, I fix computers.

Metasploit's Browser AutoPwn and the Browser Exploitation Framework (BeEF) are nasty little critters. If your brower is not up to date, malicious websites can use unpatched vulnerabilities to get a remote shell back into your computer through your browser.
Update your browser!

Funny thing, just checked my firefox on the machine I am using and it was a couple versions old.
So... If you have multiple machines, make sure you check them all, or your browser version will look like a rainbow in the member list!
