Got a gig for the weekend, hoping it is just a tonight thing, but it looks like it will be tonight and tomorrow day till I get my principle on the plane. Which dovetails in nicely as I had to go down to Manhattan to look at a new car, so life is good.I slept really well last night, don't know why. Woke up at 6am, feeling refreshed and good to go.

Puuuulease. It is a simple job, boring as hell, I don't even have to do the prep work. I just babysit a guy and watch. Last job was pleasant in that the guy wanted to try real American burgers, so we crawled not Manhattans bars (Which these people usually do) but Manhattans hamburger joints. Tell me, I should get paid for that also?LOL.

Did you find a Jeep yet for Billy, or is that what will be bought in Manhattan?Great night for sleep... finally cooled down a bit (or I was really tired). Off to Newark Valley (north of Owego... OWEEEEEEEEgo :clapping: ) for a get-together of about thirty ham radio people (of whom I will probably be the youngest one there :zombie:).

Have not found a Jeep for Billy yet, thought I did last weekend, but when I went back with cash, it was sold. The car down in Manhattan is for me, a new porsche.

You ever need an assistant, I'm your man ! :clapping: Good morning. I got up relatively early ( 9am LOL ) and went right out to work in the yard before it got too hot. Got a lot done in about 3 hours including prep work for the new addition. I was going to dig up the plants and such but the ground is so dry and apparently baked clay I decided I wasn't going to spend the whole day doing that. Hell I can buy new plants next year. Then I did some light repairs in the game bird pen, cleaned the goat's shed and a bunch of other little things. Later it's a family picnic, so I'm done for the day. I have to put together something for my column and turn it in, ohhhh, 2 days ago. LOLHave a good one !

'Twas a tad warm out there... about 82 degrees and somewhat humid. If parked facing south, the temperature reads a bit higher:Posted ImageThat was taken at Newark Valley.Had a good time at the picnic; lots of good food and good people, many of whom I have not seen in a long time.Still too full to think about dinner...

Bummer about the Jeep, but there will be others - finding the right one will take time, but will be worth it.Congrats on the new Porsche! :clapping:

Sounds like a great time tonight; we are headed for Elmira Heights (St. Nicholas festival) a bit after noon, and then over to see how Mom is doing (Sherry is cooking dinner). Spent some time last evening doing a minor improvement on one of my antennas; fixed a bit of flakiness (hmm... the spell checker didn't even question that "word") in the way it was working. While a very small improvement, still worthwhile.Had another power outage last overnight... not sure why; maybe somebody trashed a utility pole with a vehicle. Posted Image

If you would consider something different for dinner at Mom's, Central Hots is celebrating their 70th birthday today...I'm not sure of the hours..$.70 hotdogs today...Best deal in town!! Congratulations to Tom & Biz!!!

Spent some time last evening doing a minor improvement on one of my antennas; fixed a bit of flakiness (hmm... the spell checker didn't even question that "word") in the way it was working. While a very small improvement, still worthwhile.

Last week, I had my dual-band mobile antenna die...I think it's okay from an RF standpoint..But, the plastic housing on the center loading coal disintegrated...Thus allowing the top of the antenna to fall over to a 45 degree angle when driving down the road...Fortunately, I had an identical replacement to install when I got home. I showed it to CharlieS and he thinks we can fab a new housing for the old antenna coil & put it back on the air...That antenna may have been on my last 4-5 vehicles (3 years each)...I think I've probably gotten my money's worth out of it..But, it's always fun to resurrect something like that & continue using it. :clapping:
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure..

Good morning.Got up and flew a couple birds I seperated out. I'm deciding which of the roller pigeons actually roll and which will go to auction. It's kind of a pain in the ass since they fly so high and fast it's hard to pick out distinguishing features but I'm getting there. The ones who at least flip will be banded so when I collect everyone to go to auction they will be left here. Then cut my hair, now doing nothing. Highlight of the day will probably be washing dishes and starting laundry. Then a work out on the guitar and maybe some writing. Probably waste some time on the internet too.Have a good one.

Other than a pet that does something neat, not much. Unless of course one wants to get into competitions, where the flock is judged on how "deep" or how far out of the sky they spin before flying again. A good group will do it all at once and go 20, 30 + feet down. Some people have dogs and cats, I have birds...shitloads of them LOL
