Diven is required by law to send to letters saying parents have those rights. Like edugirl said, the district doesn't know about next year yet. Diven has an amazing staff and now half of Diven will be Hendy kids and half of Hendy will be Diven kids so really I don't see a problem anymore. Diven only had bad test scores because of a handful of special ed kids. Lots of their other areas of testing exceeded the district average.

Parents ought to be able to make the final call. No matter what their reason, if they don't want to be part of a misguided social experiment or any other reason.

Nor should they have to explain themselves. Government functionaries just need to make it happen and get out of the way.

How is it a social experiment? It's been happening for years in middle school!

Hochreiter was quoted as this being a social experiment in the newspaper

I actually heard Joe Hochreiter mouth those words live.

As did a room full of outraged parents.

You are a liar Bill. Hochreiter said "this (reorg plan) ISN'T the 'Superintendent's integration plan', or some sort of social experiment. It's necessary based on our historic cuts from the State." I was there and it's on video. Get your facts straight.

I know with absolute certainty that I watched Hochreiter say this in a video interview just after the meeting, but I now cannot find it anywhere. Hmmm...
Maybe your perception needs tweaking.

There is no dollar savings from bussing these kids around ,fuel is expensive ,so pray tell what other reason could there be ? Cuts in state funding causeing this ? BULLSHIT

If it is kept civil Adam, then their goal is not met, they want to reduce it to name calling and finger pointing to obfuscate the picture.

Parents need to look into this. The school administrators that are spreading the FUD* need to be ignored.
