New York Republicans have changed their tune after months of battling to insure a former New York City mayor would get the Republican presidential nomination. Now, they’re backing John McCain.
I didn’t get a call about it, I don’t know if I can agree This GOP person (Though for the life of me, I am having a hard time remembering what the GOP stand for) isn’t so fond of McCain.
Senator Andrew Lanza from Staten Island gave the Republican response to Governor Spitzer’s State of the State address.
How about the republicans in office just say “NO” to anymore silliness form the children running the state? Refuse to carry out the do-nothing laws, refuse to be party to our communal suicide? Oh, wait, that would take back bone, something clearly lacking in both sides of the aisle. Isn’t there a politician who actually puts the people before theirown need to get re-elected?
I wanted to see the feasibility of bringing wireless to downtown Elmira, it would reasonably be able to be done with about a million dollars, outright. 5 Million means that Spitzer has a friend who does internet feasibility studies, and needed some cash. 5 million dollars would not do a thing.
Call me naive, but I am only starting to see that a politician funding a ‘Study” is just a way for them to hand out money to either political cronies, or friends. We, as NY State Tax payers might as well hold a BBQ and use rolls of $20.00 bills for all the good this will do.

Each year, about a week before Thanksgiving, community members, civic organizations and local schools participate in efforts to bring awareness to the homeless and hungry. Why is it always the same people who are hungry? Everywhere I go, I see help wanted signs, and yet people are claiming others are going hungry? I am not buying it. Sure, the single mother with 5 kids might not be able to buy little johnny the new xbox he so desperately wants (And needs so as not to feel ostracized from his peer group!) Stop pumping out kids if you can’t pay to feed them. Will children suffer in this world, unjustly because of idiot parents who should have had their tubes tied or vas deferens snipped? Sure will. Chemung County lawmakers are considering a study on how to consolidate local fire services and save you money. Studies are great for covering ones butt, when things go awry, a politician will just point o the study (they spent your money on). How about giving it a good whack, and seeing where the cards fall? Then using your own deductive reasoning skills to further refine your next whack? Kill off oneof the fire companies, do it by a flip of a coin, it is going to be as safe doing it that way as it will be to have ‘exerts’ decide. Of course, if something does go wrong, blaing luck is not a great option, no?
