Anti-Kuhl Phone Message: “Some Southern Tier neighbors say they’re getting the messages on their answering machine.”

You gotta love this, I mean, I really love this tactic. I would be pissed off if I received a message like this, but I truly admire the absolute scumbaggery that went into it. The people behind it will of course eventually be exposed (he’s got the power of the state behind him to find out who it is).

In the mean time, on with the games!

Once again the Chemung County Historical Society is offering a free lecture series. The last series of lectures (which had to do with Chemung County’s involvement in WWII) were as interesting as they were informative and included pictures, posters and many times artifacts. Those giving the lectures were experts in their fields and delighted in answering audience questions. This series, titled “Into History,” promises to be just as good.

November’s series of lectures was well attended and were appropriate for all ages. All lectures are held at the Historical Society, 415 E. Water Street, Elmira. Lectures are informal, approximately 1 hour in length, and are free to the public. Due to space constraints, reservations are recommended but not required. Please call 734-4167.

Update: Friday December 28thl
\
Well we arrived, without any real problems, amazingly, the commercial flight was on time and not overbooked. Got in late, and stayed in the Carib Hilton, fun hotel, on the beach in San Juan, has a casino, I have no interest in gambling, but it was fun people watching. Took a metric buttload of pictures with the iPhone, but wouldn’t you know it, for some reason, the sync form it to my laptop ate a bunch (Some of the coolest I think). Just saw I am Legend in Imax here at Plaza Las Americas (largest mall in Puerto Rico), Two thumbs up as a movie, not scary, just unbearably…

Issues in the Twin Tiers: Elmira struggles with strays

Hundreds of cats. Thousands of cats. Millions and billions and trillions of cats. The city could pay a bounty of a few dollars to local kids to bring in cat pelts.

I am sure that the cat overpopulation problem would be solved in a few months.

Contests could b held, make it a community event.
