I saw pictures of her before the call-girl episode and Spitzer’s wife is a beautiful woman. She wasn’t so beautiful during her appearances with her hubby during the event. She looked terribly distressed and I can’t blame her!

Even at that, she probably looked better than I would have! I’m not so sure I would have been able to give him the support she did. Gotta give her credit for that!

I would have told him to shove that pre-nup sideways up his ASS. Sure, I would have “supported him”…and stood by his side during the press interviews…for my kids’ sake…it makes things easier on them in the long run…but then I would have changed the locks and his stuff would be in clear bags at the end of the drive.

I really thought about this. At first, I thought that there would be no way that I would choose to “stand by his side” during the interview on T.V… but then I thought again. If it were me in this situation, and I decided to “stay home” or go somewhere else instead, then the press would probably be following me, my kids, etc. for the ugly scoop. It’s easier on the wife and kids just to fake it through the interview part…but then I would boot his ass… but good.
I would never stay in that marriage. I wouldn’t care if I had to start from scratch, go back to work, eat dirt, whatever. Anything would be better than living with him. I would never want to teach my children that we just need to put up with “that”…

Wach, what if his wife is a bad cook. Even worse, she used to cook but doesn’t anymore. No fried chicken. No sweet potato pie. No oatmeal raisin pecan cookies.Then at night, she always has a headache, not realizing that the rollers in her hair could be contributing to the headache. What’s a man to do?

I agree with you, that (what you described) often is a problem; but, still doesn’t excuse it. A man (real) should either try to work it out…or divorce her before he beds another. He couldn’t possibly expect her (wife) to sleep with him now (if that were the problem).

Ron, word is that she did encourage him to stay. I would suppose that being first lady of the state DOES have its perks but I agree with wach…..no WAY I’d stick with this jerk after his patronizing a call girl.

It is one thing for a wife to know that her husband cheated on her….quite another for the entire WORLD to know. How totally embarrassing that must be for these two women. Darned if I’d stick around for the fall out. He’d be on his own…no money, no kids, no house, no clothes.

Yes, I have a gem, he mows, takes out the trash and kills the spiders! He doesn’t even laugh at me or groan that I don’t like them, and he’s cute!
If it ever came down to it; I would never spend my money on sex. I’d rather buy clothes or go out for drinks with friends.

if was buying a hoar or two, and it was found out, wow, deep jail time, also he was to have used his, set to movin to control it i thought was the thing, is that racketeering or something, that a fed offence , why is he out on the street, just another pubic offender walking free, i think it was to at lest pay bail. and maybe house arrest. what do we do to get justice what song do we sing to make them hear, we want things right, think, think, was it not the pubic offenders that some how made it a legal thing to commit adultry and has not this alone make family life hell. ask the kids, look at it any way you want, but the rate of what is happenin is wild. a guy can lay with any one at any time knock them up and leave, and do this over and over and over. abondenment is a law on the books, to leave ones child along is against the law of nature. to lay with a woman is marriage; by the Word of God. what is going one to day is a great crime against kids, all together, it is very bad. they cry alot over this alone, they do. but still what is bad to is we the people pay for no justice bein done, abanodment is a 3 years of hard work in jail time, but we pay for 20 years, per child and the mother her self. well it a very bad thing that happen, trust is small, and hurt are big, it leads to a broken spirit who can bare it. and this is why i am hot. but when a leader. or pubic offender dose this too he owns us something for our time, i mean what we hold dear as Americans is the fact of what is right. so i ask what is right.

That being said, the wife and children of Spitzer (or any of the disgraced politicians), really ought not stand by their side. It is his humiliation, not hers, or the children’s. He ought to be man enough to take that humiliation without the shield of family to deflect some of the emotion.
SUre, he is a guy, and he did a dumb thing and he got caught and he felt contrite, every guy in the world has done something stupid most have not been caught at it so publicly). Whats most telling about their character though is that use of the family. I find that the most shameful thing, not the hookers, or the sex toys, or the misuse of his families money, nor the loss of the governorship; but the fact that his wife had to stand their, at his side, playing the aggrieved but supportive spouse.

Bill, you’re right. The very least he could have done for her is insist that she not be there. But, most likely he is a ball-less man and couldn’t be counted on to do the manly thing. He is a wimp and a coward.
