You could kick and curse my computer but I don’t think it would help. I’ve already tried…to no avail. Soons I get off my lazy butt and find the install CD I’ll be in good stead.
The Chemung County Historical Museum currently has a display area with enlarged prints of some cards with pictures of what stands there now. You will look and weep! Elmira has not been kind to their historical structures. I have all the cards they pictured plus a few hundred more.
My original idea was to take pictures of all the places as they are today but I found I had no idea where they were. Postcards seldom identify pictures other than the building and it’s city. Archie Keefer at the museum is quite the historian on things past in Elmira.
The ones I have of Eldridge Park at the turn of the last century would delight and amaze you.

Guess I need to start looking for it some day soon.
