Last night while driving down Mt View Road in Pine City, to pick up my daughter from her first High School dance (Go Crusaders!), I noticed a bird cage in the drainage ditch. Being curious, I stopped. In the cage was one very bedraggled looking cockatiel. The thoughtful owner had conveniently tied a bag of food to the top of the cage. No water and the bottom of the cage looks like it has not been changed, well, in a long time. The bird is rather skittish and did not appreciate the ride home.

This morning he/she seems to have perked up, I have cleaned up the cage, given it fresh food and talked with it for a while. It seems friendly but wary.

Anti-war protesters have their day in court

BATH — Five anti-war activists argued Friday that their Christian religious faith and commitment to international law resulted in their arrest Aug. 6 at the Bath office of U.S. Rep. John R. Kuhl Jr.

I am all for it also, especially since the death penalty is meted out for their crimes in many ‘foreign law’ countries. Idiots.
